School Nurse Certification

    Certificate
    Online

By completing the school nurse certificate you will serve in a pivotal role that bridges health care and education. There is research that supports that a school nurse improves attendance through health promotion, disease prevention and disease management. Students with a full-time school nurse have about half the student illness- or injury-related early releases versus students in schools without a nurse present. School nurses enable better performance, which also contributes to a reduction in drop-out rates.

Learn to Lead the Way as a School Nurse

By completing the School Nurse Certificate you will learn to meet the healthcare needs of children of all ages in diverse school settings. Health promotion, health risk reduction and heath education are emphasized across the curriculum. This program of study offers the knowledge and skills necessary to establish and maintain a comprehensive school health program.

This online program is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for certification as a school nurse.
