成人抖音破解版 students on WICU

As election day draws near, 成人抖音破解版 professor Jeffrey Bloodworth, Ph.D., has found an engaging way to get students involved in political discussions. Bloodworth works in 成人抖音破解版’s history department in the School of Public Service and Global Affairs covering topics across American history. His specialty is political history and American liberalism and during election years like this one, he can often be seen on the local news stations commenting on the latest polls and breaking news. Now, he is working with Erie News Now at WICU to give college students a platform to discuss the issues, trends and feelings within the younger generations.

Ten students were selected from across Bloodworth’s classes, including many from his Road to the White House class that focuses on historic elections that shaped America. Students will appear on WICU with Bloodworth throughout October.

Bailey Wheeler, a second semester junior studying Public Service and Global Affairs, is one of the students participating on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Wheeler shared some of what she is learning, stating, “My major is usually coupled with poli-sci and history majors, so most of my classes consist of the same students, and we carry conversations from one class to the next.” Wheeler continues, “A lot of my classes tie together, as well. I am also taking Political Philosophy right now with Dr.  (Mark) Jubulis  and the political thought we learn about there can be seen in leaders of today, not just in our own country, but around the world.”

Lison Dehaine is 成人抖音破解版’s newest Fullbright Scholar, where she will teach classes on French and French culture while auditing classes and engaging in cultural exchanges.  She is preparing for her interview on WICU at the end of the month saying, “For me, it has been an eye-opening journey. Having previously worked on American politics in France, I find this U.S.-based approach refreshingly different and really enriching.”

Joe Pfleger, a senior Political Science major and former Student Government President, will also be appearing on WICU. Pfleger shared his preparation for the opportunity, stating, “My passion for researching politics and political theory allows me to approach the current political landscape with a thoughtful and well-rounded perspective.” He continued, “The knowledge I've gained from past campaign work is invaluable as I get ready for this live interview.”

Other students shared similar thoughts, as well as reflecting on the importance of being civically engaged, understanding issues on a deeper level, the importance of Pennsylvania and Erie in national elections, and how the experience has helped them explore more opportunities and careers going forward.

Students will be on WICU on Wednesdays in October.
