What is MATHCOUNTS?

MATHCOUNTS is the nation’s premiere middle school mathematics competition. More than 500 MATHCOUNTS competitions are held across the United States in February each year. 成人抖音破解版 is honored to host the Erie Chapter competition of MATHCOUNTS.

Does My Middle School Participate in MATHCOUNTS?

The Erie Chapter serves all middle schools in Cameron, Crawford, Elk, Erie, McKean and Warren counties in northwestern Pennsylvania. All students enrolled in grades 6-8 are eligible to participate as Mathletes, and we welcome students from all types of schools (e.g., public, private, charter, virtual and home schools). Tutoring or enrichment centers that are not official schools of record are not eligible.

At the start of the school year, the Erie Chapter coordinators will contact all middle schools in our area to invite them to participate in MATHCOUNTS. Teachers and school administrators can register their school . Parents and other volunteers can find the list of registered schools . If your school is not assembling a team this year, then you may register as a non-school competitor (NSC).

What Are the Different Levels of MATHCOUNTS Competition?

MATHCOUNTS is a competition series that includes four exciting, live, in-person levels of competition: (1) School, (2) Chapter, (3) State and (4) National. Each level of competition uses the same layout of four rounds of testing.

School Each middle school registers in the fall or winter, identifies a coach or coaches to work with students during the year, and administers a School Competition. Between 1 and 14 students from each school will advance to the Erie Chapter Competition. MATHCOUNTS provides the School Competition to coaches in November and most schools administer their School Competition in January.
Chapter The Erie Chapter Competition takes place at 成人抖音破解版 in February (top team and individual Mathletes from the Erie Chapter Competition advance to States).
State The Pennsylvania State Competition takes place at Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel in March (top 4 individual Mathletes from Pennsylvania State Competition advance to Nationals).
National

U.S. National Competition takes place in May.

What Happens on MATHCOUNTS Erie Chapter Competition Day?

Each level of MATHCOUNTS is set up as a bee-style competition that consists of : Sprint Round, Target Round, Team Round and Countdown Round. Coaches can enter their Mathlete names and will receive the competition schedule in January. The Erie Chapter event runs 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on a Saturday in February.

Can Parents Attend MATHCOUNTS?

Yes! Parents are welcome to join us on campus but are not allowed in the testing rooms while the students are testing. Parents and spectators are encouraged to join us for the Countdown Round and Awards Ceremony.

Is Lunch Provided?

Lunch is provided for Mathletes and coaches. Parents are welcome to join us and sit with their Mathlete.
